Apple may replace the regular SlM phone chip with a fixed eSlM chip in its phones

Numerous reports have appeared recently indicating the possibility of Apple replacing the Sim cards in its smartphones with eSlM technology in 2023, starting with the iPhone 15.

What reinforced the validity of these reports were anonymous leaks obtained by the MacRumors website - which specializes in detecting Apple leaks - which confirm that there are already talks with large American companies, to obtain advice regarding adding eSlM technology to their smartphones instead of the SlM chip.

For those who do not know, eSlM technology means that the phone's SlM card will be permanently installed on the phone's motherboard, and therefore it cannot be changed or replaced like the rest of the phone's internal parts, such as the battery, for example.

However, the user will be able to control the chip wirelessly and reprogram it externally to choose the telecommunications company whose network he wants to connect to.

Apple seeks to rely on this technology because it provides effective and easy solutions to protect internal phone components from dust and water.
